R.I.P

Randy Pausch died today of complications from pancreatic cancer at age 47. Randy recently became famous for his "Last Lecture" when he talked to his students at Carnegie-Mellon after he learned that he only had months to live. It's definitely worth your time to watch this video of what he said:

Makes you realize how short life is and Randy gives you a few ideas on how to make it worth living. Enjoy Randy's inspiration in memory of his amazing spirit and his desire to help YOU have an impact in your own life.
I'll leave you with this quote from Anna Eleanor Roosevelt: “Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product.”

Dear Pearlin,

I was just chuckling over your Boss of Me comments; then I scrolled down and got hit by the news items on Randy's death! After I'd watched the video on his presentation at the "Last Lecture", and then reading his Web site, I have the impression that everything was going on well with him! The man indeed had lived life to the max.

May he now rest in peace.

Hi Francis,

Yes, I caught Randy on Oprah where he gave an abbreviated version of his last lecture and it was deeply moving. I shed a tear again after re-watching his lecture on youtube.com, especially the part when he wheeled the birthday cake for his wife on stage. :(
